Timber Stand Improvement (TSI)
The purpose of Timber Stand Improvement is to allow desirable trees a better chance to grow and prosper with less competition. TSI is done by thinning existing trees and removing unwanted or poor trees. Timber Stand Improvement includes guidelines for how to protect the purpose and worth of forest resources during forest management activities.
